BIO El Paso-Juárez is a membership-based organization for anyone with an interest in the success of our region’s growing biomedical industry. Our binational community encompasses far West Texas, Southern New Mexico and Northern Mexico. Medical Device Industry

The El Paso/Juárez borderplex is a major hub of activity for major manufacturers from across the globe, representing a broad array of industries, from automotive parts to computer components. Over 30 factories in the region, employing more than 40,000 workers, are producing Class I, II and III medical devices.

Bio-Science & Innovation

Bioscience innovation is flourishing across the borderland, driven by a major hub of activity at the Medical Center of the Americas in Central El Paso. The 440-acre MCA campus is anchored by the Cardwell Collaborative biotech incubator (headquarters for BIO El Paso – Juárez and the MCA Foundation), Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, University Medical Center of El Paso, and El Paso Children’s Hospital.

Healthcare

A strong backbone of health care delivery exists across our region. Major public and private hospital networks serve our binational community, and a $1 billion, state-of-the-art medical campus is rising at Fort Bliss in El Paso to care for soldiers and veterans. The same goes for health care education: Schools of medicine and nursing in El Paso, Juárez and Southern New Mexico are producing the next generation of health care professionals.
